Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML)

How is CMML diagnosed?
CMML is diagnosed by testing the blood and bone marrow.

What are the prospects for people with CMML?
Chances of recovery from CMML depend on many factors, including the number of white blood cells in the blood or bone marrow.

Can CMML be eliminated from the body?
Standard treatments for CMML rarely lead to long-lasting recovery.

How is CMML treated?
Standard treatments include chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation, and supportive care, or treatments given to lessen problems caused by the disease.

New therapies are under investigation, including one that targets the kinase protein. It is now being studied in clinical trials.
